Welcome to the AU Wellness Spring Challenge!

Our long awaited spring is finally here...so let's get out and get active! As with past challenges, you simply need to enter your daily steps or have your fitness tracker do it for you (see below). Not into walking or running but love cycling or swimming? No problem! See https://mywaytohealth.wustl.edu/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Activity-Conversion-Chart.pdf for info on converting time spent doing your favourite activities into steps. 

And, as an added element of adventure this year, we are encouraging everyone to try GeoCaching! Use your body and your brain to find hidden treasure. First time GeoCachers will need to:

  1. Visit geocaching.com
  2. Set up a free account.
  3. Download the GeoCaching app (if you're using a GPS device, you will most likely need to visit the geocaching.com site to get the GPS address).
  4. Start searching!

Don't forget to take a picture of the treasure (without giving away the location!) and post it to the challenge site to have your name entered into a weekly draw for some VERY COOL prizes. 

Register Now!

So dust off your spring gear and get your teams registered (maximum of 10 participants). The challenge runs from May 22/18 to June 8/18. One person per team needs to:

  1. Click Enroll
  2. If you are new to the site, fill out the New Member information form and click Register.
  3. If you are already a member, enter your ChallengeRunner.com ID and password and click Sign Up.
  4. In the Select Challenge Team pop-up window, click Create New Team. You will automatically be added to the team.

Once the team is created, other team members can enroll by following steps 1 through 3 and select the team they wish to join.

Fitness Trackers

For those who use fitness trackers, click the Trackers button and follow the instructions to automatically download your steps from your device.

Prizes?

You betcha! But this year's challenge is focussed on participation, so there will be random prizes for weekly activity, posts that share what kind of activities inspire you to get moving, and photos of course :)
