Join Sherwood's Step It Up this Summer Challenge for a stronger heart, a more rugged metabolism, more stable blood sugar, a more agile brain, and a more dedicated you! Health professionals recommend walking 10,000 days a day which is just as effective as doing five 30-minute workouts a week.
There are a lot of ways to sneak steps into your day - take the stairs, walk at lunch or on your coffee break, have a walking meeting, or walk to your co-worker's desk instead of sending an email.
Step It Up this Summer Challenge will start Monday, July 9th and run through Monday, September 3rd (Labor Day).
What's a challenge without prizes? The individual that walks the most steps will win a FitBit (or equivalent gift card amount if you already have one!).
You will need a pedometer, activity tracker, or you can download the free app Moves on your smartphone. You can import data from fitness tracking devices including: Apple Health FitBit, Garmin, Google Fit, Misfit, Moves App, Nokia (Withings), and Samsung Health. To import data, download the ChallengeRunner App. For activity trackers that cannot import data, it will be on the honor system, so please make sure we can verify your results! Please contact HR if you would like to participate in the challenge but do not have any of the listed items above.
