Step to Health Challenge
Date - Date
Overview: Those who are physically active tend to live longer, healthier lives. Research shows that even moderate physical activity – such as 30 minutes a day of brisk walking – significantly contributes to a longer, healthier life. Regular exercise can also help lower blood pressure, reduce body weight, control blood sugar, improve cholesterol levels, and build stronger, denser bones. The Step to Health Challenge is a 4 week walking challenge designed to guide you through the benefits of walking, encourage you to incorporate a walk into your daily routine, and inspire you to make walking a priority.
Challenge Instructions: Your goal is to get at least 20 minutes of physical activity each day of the challenge. Select the date you wish to log and enter the number of minutes of physical activity. You can record a maximum of 60 minutes per day.
If you have a tracking device, click on the profile button in the My Challenges tab to sync it for automatic uploads. Each device records activity minutes differently and data is pulled from the device manufacturer’s website. Please refer to your device’s website or manual for more information.
You must record at least 600 minutes of physical activity to complete the challenge.
If you are unable to record your activity online, you may complete the Paper Tracking Form and submit to the GPA Wellness Department (firstname.lastname@example.org or fax to 469-445-3151) at the end of the challenge to receive credit.
